Re: Cancellation of Australia Day Open Day

Thursday 26 January, 2012

The Governor and staff at Government House are disappointed to advise that due to the continuing inclement weather the advertised Open Day at Government House in celebration of  Australia Day has been cancelled.  The consistent rain over the past week has saturated the grounds to the point that open day access and activity on the site is deemed unsafe.

The next Government House Open Day is scheduled for Sunday 3 June, 2012 in celebration of Queensland Day and the Queens Diamond Jubilee.  Please note that Government House is open Tuesday to Thursday weekly for pre-booked tours to recognised community groups, inquiries may be directed to telephone: 3858 5700 or email: govhouse@govhouse.qld.gov.au.
