In the morning Her Excellency Ms Penelope Wensley AO greeted members of the New Horizons Social Club who visited Government House for a guided tour and morning tea.

In the evening, Her Excellency attended and addressed guests at the Discovering Landcare Community Dinner, part of a two day Forum included in Australia's National Science Week. The dinner was hosted by the Queensland Murray-Darling Committee and held at the Goondiwindi Cultural Centre.

In the morning Her Excellency, Ms Penelope Wensley AO, attended as Official Guest at the Church Service to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan, St John's Cathedral, Ann Street, Brisbane.

Later, Her Excellency attended the Vietnam Veterans' Day Memorial Service, ANZAC Square, Adelaide Street, Brisbane.

Her Excellency laid wreaths at both Services.

In the evening, Her Excellency attended and delivered an address at a dinner hosted by Southern Cross University, at Oskars Restaurant, Burleigh Heads for delegates and partners attending the Association for Commonwealth Universities Benchmarking Forum.

Her Excellency presented awards to 68 Gold Award recipients and delivered a congratulatory address.

On Friday in the morning, Her Excellency, Ms Penelope Wensley AO received Dr Sheel Nuna, Director for South Asia of the Queensland University of Technology.

Following, Her Excellency received Mr Peter and Mrs Sheila Forrest to discuss the Government House Sesqui-centenary project.

In the evening, Her Excellency, as Patron, and Mr Stuart McCosker attended the opening of the 2008 Royal Queensland Show at the RNA Showgrounds, Brisbane. Her Excellency delivered the opening address and inspected the Royal Guard of Honour, the Australian Federation Guard and the Queensland Mounted Police.

Following, Her Excellency and Mr McCosker attended the official opening dinner in the Ernest Baynes Room, hosted by Dr Vivian Edwards OAM, President of the RNA Association of Queensland.

In the evening, Her Excellency attended the official welcome reception of the Clinical Research Excellence Conference, co- hosted by the Queensland Clinical Trials Network Inc. at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Brisbane. Her Excellency addressed participants and opened the conference exhibition area.

Following, Her Excellency attended the Annual Cabinet Dinner hosted by The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland at the RNA Showgrounds, Brisbane.

In the afternoon, Her Excellency hosted the Queensland Country Life Miss Showgirl Finalists for afternoon tea.

Students and staff of Scarborough State School visited Government House for a guided tour and morning tea.

In the evening, members of the Royal Geographical Society of Queensland held their Annual General Meeting at Government House. As Patron of the Society, Her Excellency greeted the President and members and gave welcoming remarks prior to the commencement of the meeting.
