The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Tuesday, in the morning, at Mermaid Beach, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC visited the Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Club, and the Surf Life Saving Queensland State Operations Communications Centre (Surfcom).
Following, at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey received a briefing from Deputy Director-General, Office of the Commonwealth Games, Department of Innovation, Tourism Industry Development and the Commonwealth Games, Ms Kerry Petersen.
Following, at Southport, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey toured Smith Collective, and the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.
In the afternoon, at Oxenford, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey visited Village Roadshow Studios.
Following, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey returned to Government House following official travel to the Gold Coast.
