Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted an Investiture Ceremony for recipients of Australian honours and awards announced in the Australia Day 2019 Honours List, and the Governor addressed guests.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted a dinner in honour of Queenslanders recognised in the Australia Day 2019 Honours Lists, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: Mr Karl Morris AO and Mrs Louise Morris; Mr Thomas Mould AO and Mrs Susan Mould; Dr Christine Richmond AM and Dr James Richmond; Warrant Officer William Gibson CSC; Dr Sharon Mullins PSM and Mr Glen Mullins; Superintendent Darryl Johnson APM and Mrs Helen Johnson; Mr John Bolger AFSM and Mrs Jo Bolger; Major Jeffrey Cocks OAM (Mil) and Mrs Simone Cocks; Dr Judith Grimes OAM; Miss Patricia Large OAM and Mr Steven Whiting; and Air Commodore Mark Gower AM LVO OAM (Mil) and Mrs Julie Gower.
