Community Group Tours

Her Excellency Ms Penelope Wensley AC, Governor of Queensland, welcomes community groups for tours of Government House.

Experience the beauty and history of one of Queensland's most gracious buildings and learn about the role and functions of the Governor of Queensland.

Your visit will include a tour of Government House, surrounding grounds, and morning or afternoon tea.

Tuesday - 10.30 am or 2.00 pm

Wednesday - 10.00 am or 2.00 pm

Thursday - 10.00 am or 2.00 pm

(except Public Holidays and subject to availability)

Bookings are entirely dependent on the Governor's program and may, on occasion, have to be re-scheduled or house access restricted for part of your visit.
The duration for each visit is approximately one and three quarter hours.
Morning tea will be served at the commencement of a morning visit.
Afternoon tea will be served at the conclusion of an afternoon visit.

PLEASE NOTE: Government House will not accept bookings from Bus Company representatives (even when booking on behalf of a Community Group) All bookings must be made by the Community Group organiser directly to Government House. There is no charge for a visit to Government House.

Her Excellency endeavours to greet each tour group during the tour, but this is dependent upon her schedule.
The Governor should be addressed initially as "Your Excellency", and thereafter as "Ma'am" or "Governor".
Please advise staff prior to your visit if there are members of your group who have walking difficulties or if wheelchair access is required.
Limited parking is available within the grounds of Government House for private vehicles or for groups arriving by bus.
Photographs are not allowed inside Government house, in accordance with Queensland Art Gallery guidelines, but may be taken in the grounds.
We suggest that you wear comfortable walking shoes.
