Government House staff have bid ‘au revoir’ to the Vice-Regal couple as they undertake a two-week diplomatic mission to the United Kingdom and France.
During their visit, the Governor and Professor Nimmo will engage in significant discussions, cultural exchanges, and commemorative events, highlighting Queensland’s contributions on the global stage.
They will attend the Paris 2024 Olympics, representing Queenslanders on the world stage at the request of the Queensland Government. As guests of the Olympic Family, they will attend key sporting events to cheer on our athletes.
The Governor has also been granted her first formal audience with His Majesty The King, a long-awaited meeting that will take place at Sandringham House.
This journey underscores Queensland’s commitment to international relations, cultural diplomacy, and fostering meaningful partnerships abroad, of heightened importance ahead of Queensland hosting the 2032 Olympics.
