King’s Birthday 2025 Honours List Announcement

Her Excellency congratulates the 114 Queenslanders recognised in the King’s Birthday 2025 Honours List, announced by the Governor-General in recognition of the selfless service, integrity, achievement, creativity, and care that flourish across our country.

Of the 14 individuals appointed nationally as a Companion of the Order of Australia, two are Queenslanders, being eminent marine scientist Professor Ian Hoegh-Guldberg AC and highly decorated costume and production designer Mrs Catherine Martin AC – the most awarded Australian in Oscar history.

This year marks the 50th anniversary year of Australian Honours and Awards and as we reflect on the achievements of the many extraordinary Queenslanders who have been celebrated in the first five decades, we are encouraged to think about nominating those deserving individuals yet to be recognised.
