The heritage‑listed gardens and grounds of Fernberg, the official residence of Queensland Governors since 1910, span 16.3 hectares of remnant bushland and formal landscaping. The Office of the Governor comprises a small, dedicated team—led by the Official Secretary—that supports the Governor in fulfilling constitutional, ceremonial, community and representational duties, while also caring for the Estate as a heritage asset of national importance. Guided by its Strategic Plan, the Office delivers work across constitutional and legal functions, ceremonial responsibilities, community engagement, promotion of Queensland, preservation of Government House and effective management.
