Governor grants Assent to six Bills
This afternoon, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, Governor of Queensland, received Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie for the presentation of six Bills for Assent:
Constitution (Fixed Term Parliament) Amendment Bill 2015 - A Bill for an Act to provide for fixed four-year terms for the Legislative Assembly in Queensland;
Criminal Law (Domestic Violence) Amendment Bill 2016 - A Bill for an Act to amend the Criminal Code, the Penalties and Sentences Act 1992 and the Youth Justice Act 1992, for particular purposes;
Queen’s Wharf Brisbane Bill 2016 - A Bill for An Act to provide for the ratification of the agreement for the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane casino and provide for other matters relating to the development of Queen’s Wharf Brisbane, and to amend this Act, the Brisbane Casino Agreement Act 1992, the Casino Control Act 1982, the Economic Development Act 2012, the Liquor Act 1992, the South Bank Corporation Act 1989 and the South-East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail Restructuring) Act 2009 for particular purposes;
Brisbane Casino Agreement Amendment Bill 2016 - A Bill for an Act to amend the Brisbane Casino Agreement Act 1992 to provide for the ratification of a new agreement;
Crime and Corruption Amendment Bill 2016 - A Bill for an Act to amend the Crime and Corruption Act 2001, the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 2009, the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal Regulation 2009 and the Acts mentioned in schedules 1 and 2 for particular purposes;
Electoral (Improving Representation) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2016 - A Bill for an Act to amend the Constitution of Queensland 2001, the Electoral Act 1992, the Parliament of Queensland Act 2001 and the Queensland Independent Remuneration Tribunal Act 2013 for particular purposes.
