Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the morning, at Shorncliffe, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey visited Shorncliffe State School, and the Governor addressed students and guests.

In the afternoon, at Parliament House, Brisbane, His Excellency presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the evening, at the Government House, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted a dinner in recognition of Outstanding Queensland Contributors, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: the Honourable Justice Graeme Crow and Mrs Vicky Crow; Professor Russell Strong AC CMG RFD and Mrs Judith Strong; Professor Joan Sheldon AM; the Honourable Ian Macfarlane and Mrs Karen Macfarlane; Mr Don McDonald AM OBE and Mrs Christine McDonald OAM; Dr Don Bowley OAM and Ms Meegan Bowley; Captain Barry Cuneo and Ms Julie McStay; Mr Leon Kippin and Mrs Jane Kippin; Mr Ken MacDonald and Ms Marian Gibney; Mrs Kate Hastings and Mr Robert Hastings APM; and Ms Amelia Long.
