Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Monday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted Investiture Ceremonies for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2019 Australia Day Honours List, the August 2019 Bravery Announcement and the 2020 Australia Day Honours List: Mr Peter Gash OAM; Warrant Officer Class Two James Cottle; Mr Umesh Chandra OAM; Mr Damian Voltz PSM; Mr Matthew Hassen BM; Lieutenant Colonel Mark Smith CSC; Mr Kenneth MacDonald AM; Mr Damond Gray BM; Mr Brian Taylor OAM; and Mr Peter Boyes OAM.

In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted Investiture Ceremonies for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, the August 2019 Bravery Announcement and the 2020 Australia Day Honours List: Mr Bryan Brown AM; Mr Grant Hunt AM; Professor Matthew Sanders AO; Mr Cary Strong ASM; Mr Neville Bell OAM; Mr Campbell Newman AO; Mr David Paratz AM; Colonel Nicholas Foxall AM (Mil); Dr Ashok Gangasandra Basavaraj; and Mr Vishaak Gangasandra.
