Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Friday, in the morning, at the Pullman Reef Hotel – Casino, Cairns, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC CVO and Mrs Kaye de Jersey received the Mayor, Cairns Regional Council, Cr Bob Manning and Mrs Claire Manning.

Following, at the Pullman Reef Hotel – Casino, Cairns, His Excellency undertook a media interview.

Following, at the Pullman Reef Hotel – Casino, Cairns, His Excellency and Mrs de jersey hosted North Queensland Investiture Ceremonies for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2021 Australia Day Honours List, the March 2021 Bravery Announcement and 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours List: Mr Alan Erskine Cummins OAM; Mr Joven Toribio Estrada BM; Sergeant David William Raymond BM and Mr Jacob Alexander Raymond; Mr Larry John Guilfoyle ACM; The late Mr Paul Douglas Russell OAM (received by Mrs Maragret Russell); Mr Graham Maifredi OAM; Mr Scott Anthony Johnson and Mr Shane Antun Radanovic; Dr John Edward Veron OAM; and Petty Officer Christopher Joseph Sanders CSM.

In the evening, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey returned to Government House following official travel to Cairns.
