Patronage

The Governor has a role in unifying and promoting Queensland and Queensland organisations by undertaking activities that assist, promote, encourage and recognise Queenslanders across a wide range of community interests. The acceptance of Vice-regal patronage from worthy organisations and events, which aim to improve the lives of Queenslanders, is the principal way in which this support is provided.

Patronage organisations are generally Queensland-based community groups and associations with no political agenda. The Governor accepts patronage according to rigorous guidelines.

Her Excellency’s patronage commitments are currently fully subscribed, and she is not accepting further patronages at this time.

Current patronage arrangements will cease when the term of the current Governor expires. Organisations wishing to apply for patronage under the next Governor will be invited to do so through a formal application process, details of which will be published on the Government House website in due course. In the meantime, organisations requiring further information are welcome to contact our office.
