The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC greeted members of Friendship Force visiting Government House for morning tea and a guided tour of the House and gardens.
Following, at 1 William Street, the Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council of Queensland, and then called upon the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier of Queensland, and Mr Dave Stewart, Director-General, Department of Premier and Cabinet.
In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor received Dr Zhao Yongchen, Consul-General of the People's Republic of China.
Following, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a reception to celebrate the 91st birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II where His Excellency addressed guests.
