Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the morning, at the Anglican Church Grammar School, Brisbane, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, with Mrs Kaye de Jersey, officially unveiled a bronze statue of St Magnus the Martyr and addressed guests.

Following, at Parliament House, Brisbane, the Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council of Queensland, and then greeted students from St John’s Anglican College, Forest Lake, visiting for a tour of the Parliament.  

Following, at Government House, the Governor received Ms Linda Apelt, incoming Agent-General and Trade and Investment Commissioner for Europe.

Also in the afternoon, at the Royal International Convention Centre, Brisbane, Mrs de Jersey attended the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) Ladies High Tea 2017 Charity Fundraiser.

In the evening, at the Brisbane Showgrounds, Bowen Hills, the Governor attended the RNA Cabinet Dinner.
