The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Monday, in the morning, in Kuala Lumpur, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC received a briefing by Mr Rod Smith PSM, Australia’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, on Queensland and Australia’s trade, business and cultural relations with Malaysia.
In the afternoon, in Kuala Lumpur, the Governor attended and delivered the keynote address at a networking lunch hosted by the Malaysia Australia Business Council as part of the Commonwealth Speaker Series VIP Luncheon.
In the evening, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended a dinner hosted by the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia at the High Commissioner’s Residence, Kuala Lumpur, with guests including representatives of Malaysia’s sports and tourism sectors.
