The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Monday, in the morning, at the Tattersall’s Club, Brisbane City, Mrs Kaye de Jersey, Patron of the Lyceum Club, attended the Lyceum Club Christmas morning tea, and addressed guests.
In the evening, at Hamilton, Brisbane, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs de Jersey attended a reception in celebration of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan, and the Governor addressed guests.
Following, His Excellency commenced duty as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes assumed duty as Acting Governor.
