The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Tuesday, in the morning, at The Sukhothai Bangkok, Bangkok, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC hosted a Trade and Investment Queensland investor roundtable, and the Governor addressed guests.
In the afternoon, at Kanchanaburi, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey visited the railroad bridge over the Kwai Yai River.
Following, at Kanchanaburi, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey visited the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre.
Following, at the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Kanchanaburi, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey laid a wreath at the Cross of Sacrifice, and laid Queensland Country Women’s Association poppies at the gravesites of Queensland soldiers Bombardier Jack Ewing and Gunner Sete Ewing.
