Christmas Lights return to Government House
The much-loved Christmas Lights are back at Government House, with a spectacular free display open to the public nightly from 6:45pm to 8:15pm, December 12–18, 2025.
The historic Fernberg Estate and its beautiful gardens will once again be transformed by a magical light show—a must-see tradition for Brisbane families during the festive season.
This year’s display features new elements, so even returning visitors will enjoy a fresh experience.
Guests are also invited inside Government House to take a photo beside the grandly decorated Christmas tree.
Entry is free, and no tickets or pre-bookings are required.
Simply arrive and enjoy the festive atmosphere!

- Entry: Free, via the gates at 168 Fernberg Road, Paddington
- Parking: On surrounding streets (no on-site parking; Security will assist with drop-offs for guests with mobility needs)

Fernberg has been the official residence of the Governor of Queensland since 1910. Each year, thousands visit to enjoy the bright and colourful Government House Christmas Lights, widely regarded as one of Brisbane’s best festive displays.
