Investiture Ceremony concludes week of honours at Government House
The final Investiture Ceremony at Government House this week will recognise a distinguished group of Queenslanders whose contributions span business and tertiary education, community mental health, sport and surf lifesaving, veterinary science and humanitarian programs, regional development, engineering, law, horticulture, music and broadcast media.
During the ceremony, honours will be presented to recipients appointed as Members of the Order of Australia (AM), as well as those awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), recognising service and achievement across a wide range of fields and communities.
Recipients include leaders and contributors across business, education, health and community service, as well as those driving progress in regional economies, science, agriculture, the law, media and the arts—alongside Queenslanders recognised for sustained and meaningful service to their communities.
Government House Investiture Ceremonies, 14–21 May 2026
Across seven Investiture Ceremonies this week, more than 140 remarkable Queenslanders have been recognised at Government House. Their contributions span community leadership, national service, research, industry, sport and many other fields, yet each shares a common thread: a commitment to serving others.
Across all ceremonies, recipients reflect the remarkable breadth and depth of Australian achievement, with the Australian Honours and Awards system the pre-eminent way Australians recognise the achievements and service of their fellow citizens.
Today’s ceremony is the final Investiture Ceremony in this series, with proceedings livestreamed via the links below and on the Governor’s Facebook page.
