Queenslanders honoured for service and leadership
Her Excellency will today present Australian Honours and Awards to Queenslanders recognised for distinguished service, devotion to duty and contribution to their communities.
Two formal Investiture Ceremonies will be held at Government House at 1pm and 5pm. Awards to be presented include appointments in the Order of Australia (including Member of the Order of Australia and the Medal of the Order of Australia), as well as Defence honours recognising outstanding devotion and meritorious achievement, including the Conspicuous Service Cross, the Conspicuous Service Medal and the Commendation for Distinguished Service.
Government House Investiture Ceremonies, 14 - 21 May 2026
Over the next week, Government House will host seven Investiture Ceremonies, recognising more than 140 outstanding Queenslanders for their achievements and service across a wide range of fields, from community leadership and national defence to sporting excellence.
Across all seven ceremonies, recipients reflect the remarkable breadth and depth of Australian achievement. The Australian Honours and Awards system is the pre-eminent way Australians recognise the achievements and service of their fellow citizens.
