Queenslanders recognised for outstanding service and achievement
An Investiture Ceremony at Government House on Wednesday will recognise a distinguished group of Queenslanders whose contributions span environmental conservation, medicine, architecture and heritage, energy, the arts, education and community leadership.
During the ceremony, honours will be presented to recipients appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) or Members of the Order of Australia (AM), as well as those awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), recognising service and contribution across a wide range of fields and communities.
Recipients include leaders and innovators in protected area management and research, women’s and maternal health, water and environmental governance, heritage conservation and architectural practice, exercise medicine and cancer research, veterinary surgical oncology, architectural photography and education, arts philanthropy, and electricity system governance—alongside Queenslanders recognised for sustained community service.
Government House Investiture Ceremonies, 14 - 22 May 2026
Across seven Investiture Ceremonies in May, more than 140 remarkable Queenslanders are being recognised. Their contributions span community leadership, national defence, engineering, sport and many other fields, yet each shares a common thread: a willingness to serve something greater than themselves.
Across all ceremonies, recipients reflect the remarkable breadth and depth of Australian achievement, with the Australian Honours and Awards system the pre-eminent way Australians recognise the achievements and service of their fellow citizens.
Each remaining ceremony this week will be livestreamed via the links below, and on the Governor's Facebook page.
