Watch live: King's Birthday Investiture Ceremonies 2026
Outstanding Queenslanders from every corner of the State will be recognised at Government House during seven Investiture Ceremonies from 14 to 17 September, celebrating achievement, service and leadership across an extraordinary range of fields.
Hosted by the Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, the ceremonies will honour recipients recognised in the 2026 King's Birthday Honours List, as well as recipients of distinguished service, military, emergency services, public service and bravery awards. Their contributions have had a lasting impact on communities in Queensland, across the nation and beyond.
The recipients represent an extraordinary breadth of achievement. Among those being invested as Officers and Members of the Order of Australia are internationally respected leaders in medicine, science, psychology, education, law enforcement, engineering, agriculture, the arts and community service. Their work has advanced medical research and patient care, strengthened public institutions, supported industry and education, and enriched the lives of countless Australians.
This year's honours also recognise significant contributions to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through achievements in Indigenous health, language preservation, education, art, culture and heritage. Other recipients are being acknowledged for service to youth, veterans, social welfare, conservation, multicultural communities, regional Queensland and community organisations, often through decades of dedicated voluntary service.
The ceremonies will further recognise distinguished service by members of the Australian Defence Force, Queensland Police Service and emergency services. Awards for military achievement, public service, bravery and meritorious service highlight the commitment of individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, courage and dedication in serving the community and the nation.
Among those to be honoured are world-leading researchers, health professionals, educators, artists, business leaders and public servants, alongside community champions whose contributions may be less visible but are no less significant. Together, they represent the values of service, excellence, innovation and commitment that help shape Queensland's future.
The Australian Honours and Awards system is the nation's highest means of recognising outstanding achievement and service. Investiture Ceremonies at Government House provide an opportunity for recipients, their families and supporters to celebrate these remarkable accomplishments and the positive impact they have had on communities across Queensland and Australia.
As the Governor's final series of Investiture Ceremonies before the conclusion of her term, the September ceremonies will offer a fitting opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding Queenslanders whose service and achievements have made a lasting difference to the State.
Each ceremony will be livestreamed via the links below, and on the Governor's Facebook page.
