On Friday, in the morning, at Canowindra Aged Care Facility, Kingaroy, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD hosted a Private Investiture Ceremony for Mr Vernon Clark OAM, and the Governor addressed guests.
Following, at Kingaroy Hospital, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff and patients.
Following, at Kingaroy Men’s Shed, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a morning tea with community members, and the Governor addressed guests.
Following, at Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Hub, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing and met with staff and industry representatives.
In the afternoon, at Kingaroy Town Hall, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a working lunch with South Burnett Regional Council members and Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett members.
Following, at Kingaroy State School, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the school, met with staff and read a book to students.
Following, at Kingaroy Heritage Museum, Visitor Information Centre and Art Gallery, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the museum, visitor information centre and gallery and met with staff and volunteers.
Following, at Kingaroy Showgrounds, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the Kingaroy Show cattle judging, and the Governor presented ribbons to the Junior Judges and Handlers and addressed guests.
In the evening, at Whipbird Café, Coolabunia, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received South Burnett Regional Council Mayor, Councillor Kathy Duff and council representatives for a working dinner.
