On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM received the inaugural Archdeacon to Veterans, Anglican Church of Australia, Reverend Andrew Nixon.

Following, at 1 William Street, Her Excellency presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon, Her Excellency and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Government House for Official Travel to Cairns Regional Council.

In the evening, at the Tanks Arts Centre, Cairns, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair 2026 Opening Night Celebration and VIP Function, and the Governor addressed guests.
