In the afternoon, in Townsville, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC assumed duty as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia; and the Honourable Justice Margaret McMurdo AC commenced duty as Acting Governor.

Following, at Loft by JAM, His Excellency the Administrator and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a community reception.

In the evening, at the Townsville Civic Theatre, His Excellency the Administrator and Mrs de Jersey attended the AFCM Governor’s Gala Concert, ‘Concertante’.
