In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Cairns Regional Council for Official Travel to Mareeba Shire Council.
Following, at Mareeba, the Governor and Professor Nimmo visited Mareeba Hospital, where they toured the facility and met with staff and patients.
Following, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo departed Mareeba Shire Council for Official Travel to Tablelands Regional Council.
Following, at Tablelands Regional Council Chambers, Atherton, the Governor and Professor Nimmo attended a briefing and working lunch with Acting Mayor Dave Bilney, CEO Dr Nikola Stepanov and Councillors to discuss regional priorities.
Following, at Atherton, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited Atherton Hospital, where they toured the facility and met with staff.
Following in the afternoon, at Herberton, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited Herberton Hospital, and met with staff and patients.
Following, at Atherton, Her Excellency, accompanied by Professor Nimmo, officially opened the Priors Creek Parklands, and the Governor addressed guests, unveiled a plaque and participated in a ribbon cutting to mark the occasion.
