On Wednesday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Cairns Regional Council for Official Travel to Torres Strait Island Regional Council.

Following, at Government House, members of Seven Hills Bushland Reserve Walking Group visited for a guided tour of the House and gardens. 

Following, at Olandi Pearson Memorial Community Hall, Coconut Island, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a community lunch with the Torres Strait Island Regional Council, and the Governor addressed guests.

In the afternoon, at Tagai State College, Coconut Island, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited and toured the school and read a book to students.

Following, at Council Chambers, Coconut Island, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a Council Briefing with the Torres Strait Island Regional Council.

Following, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo departed Torres Strait Island Regional Council for Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council.

In the evening, at Cape York Peninsula Lodge, Bamaga, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a working dinner with Mayor, Chief Executive Officer and Traditional Owners of Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council.
