On Tuesday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Government House for Official Travel to Richmond Shire Council, Winton Shire Council, Flinders Shire Council, Boulia Shire Council, Barcoo Shire Council and Longreach Regional Council and the Honourable Justice Glenn Martin AM commenced duty as Deputy Governor of Queensland.
Following at Government House, members of Bluecare, Wynnum visited for a guided tour of the House and gardens.
In the afternoon, at Richmond Shire Council Chambers, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing from the Mayor, Councillor John Wharton AM and Council representatives.
Following, at Richmond State School, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited the school, met students and staff, and toured the school.
Following, at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the gardens.
Following, at Richmond Multipurpose Health Service, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff and patients.
Following, at Kronosaurus Korner Museum, Richmond, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a Reception and met with members of the community.
In the evening, at The Royal Theatre, Winton, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the opening of the Festival of the Outback Opera, and the Governor addressed guests.
