On Tuesday, in the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM received via telephone conference, Mayor, Burke Shire Council, Councillor Ernie Camp.  

Following, at St John’s Cathedral, Brisbane City, Her Excellency and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD attended the Commonwealth Day multicultural event, and the Governor read the 2023 Commonwealth Day Message from His Majesty King Charles III. 

Following, at Government House, Her Excellency met members of Runaway Bay RSL Subbranch visiting for a guided tour of the House and gardens. 

In the evening, at Government House, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a Dinner in support of Community Leaders, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included Reverend Peter Jeffery and Mrs Karen Jeffery; Reverend David Busch and Reverend Jenny Busch; Imam Mohammed Atae Rabi Haddi and Mr Ibraheem Malik; Reverend Rosemary Gardiner and Mr Lindsay Gardiner; Father Richard James and Dr Danielle James; Reverend Jayesh Naran and Mrs Jess Naran; Mr Bruce Nimmo and Mrs Elizabeth Nimmo; Reverend Morris Rangiwai and Mrs Heather Walker; Reverend Dr Margaret Wesley and Reverend Dr Ann Edwards; and Ms Yolande Yorke and Dr Ingrid Tall.
