On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM hosted a Morning Tea at in support of Cancer Council Australia's Biggest Morning Tea 2026, and the Governor addressed guests.
Following, at Australian Catholic University, Banyo, Her Excellency was represented by Honorary Aide-de-Camp Flight Lieutenant Tim Daelman at the Centaur Memorial Fund for Nurses 83rd Annual Commemorative Service of the sinking of the 2/3 AHS Centaur, who laid the first wreath and delivered a reading on her behalf.
In the afternoon, at Parliament House, Her Excellency presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
Following, at Government House, Her Excellency hosted an Investiture Ceremony for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2026 Australia Day Honours List and August 2025 Bravery Announcement; Mr Rob McInerney AO; Group Captain Phillip Godfrey CSC; Ms Quinn Cramer AFSM; Mr Robert Frey AFSM; Mr Christopher Gilchrist AFSM; Mr Garry Hoonhout AFSM; Mrs Dannielle Bull ESM; Ms Jennifer Crump ESM; Ms Amanda Johnson ESM; Ms Nicole Lockie ESM; Lieutenant Colonel Robert Cramp OAM (Retd); Brigadier Bruce Scott CSC OAM (Retd); presented Commendation for Brave Conduct: Mr Martin Lloyd; Mr Rydell Murray; Mr Michael Schmidt; presented the Group Bravery Citation: Mr Martin Collins; Dr Trevor Hollingsworth; Ms Anne Jones; and Mr Robert Menzies.
