On Friday, in the morning, at ANZAC Park Cenotaph, Townsville, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD attended the Victory in the Pacific 80^th Commemorative Service where they laid the first wreath, and the Governor addressed guests.

Following, at Flinders Street, Townsville, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the re-enactment of the ‘War is Over’ speech.

In the afternoon, at the Mayoral Forecourt, Townsville City Council, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a Civic Reception Lunch for Veterans, Families and Dignitaries, and the Governor addressed guests.

Following, at 5^th USAF Memorial, Jezzine Barracks, Townsville, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attend the Joint United States/Australian Commemorative Service.

In the evening, at Queens Gardens, Townsville, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the Victory in the Pacific 80^th Commemoration Dinner Under the Stars, and the Governor addressed guests.
