On Tuesday, in the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD hosted a ceremony to present Australian Sports Medals to Special Olympic Queensland athletes and officials, and the Governor addressed guests.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a reception in support of Papua New Guinea's 50th Anniversary of Independence, and the Governor addressed guests.

In the evening, at Government House, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a working dinner in support of planning for the centenary commemorations of The Royal Australian Corps of Signals.
