On Friday, in the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD received Consul-General of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Her Excellency Mrs Reem Zahran and Consul of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Sydney, Mr Amr Ali.

In the afternoon, at Parliament House, Brisbane City, Her Excellency attended The Order of Australia Association Queensland Branch’s 2026 Secondary School Citizenship Awards, and the Governor presented Awards and addressed guests.

Following, in the afternoon, The Governor visited 'Beyond the Verandah' at Parliament House, celebrating Irene Longman, the first woman elected to the Queensland Parliament. Elected for Bulimba in 1929, she remained the Parliament’s only female member during her term.

Following, in the afternoon, Her Excellency welcomed members of The Australiana Fund for a tour of Government House.

In the evening, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a performance of Brisbane Festival 'Scorched Earth’ at the Brisbane Powerhouse, New Farm.
