On Wednesday, in the morning, at Mater Hospital, Springfield, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM officiated at the opening and blessing of the hospital, and the Governor addressed guests and unveiled a plaque.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Her Excellency hosted an Investiture Ceremony for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2026 Australia Day Honours List and 2025 King’s Birthday Honours List: Emeritus Professor Marcus Hockings AO; Associate Professor John Allan AM; The late Ms Leith Boully AM; Mr David Gole AM; Professor Robert Newton AM; Dr Rodney Straw AM; Dr Richard Stringer AM; Mr Paul Taylor AM; Ms Merryn York AM; Miss Virginia Balmain OAM; Mr Kenneth Brown OAM; Mr Wen Yao Ko OAM; Mr Stanley Nelson OAM; Mr Glenn Norris OAM; Mr Rock OKeefe OAM; Mrs Joan O'Keefe OAM; Mr James O'Shannessy OAM; Mr Robert Paterson OAM; Ms Karen Phillips OAM; The late Mrs Joy Ransley-Smith OAM; and Mr Mark Rigby OAM.

In the evening, at Tattersalls Club, Brisbane City, Her Excellency attended the National Trust of Australia Queensland Heritage Awards, and the Governor presented awards and addressed guests.
