Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Tuesday, in the morning, at the Tivoli Theatre, Fortitude Valley, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC attended the launch of the 2018 Brisbane Open House program, and the Governor officially opened the program and addressed guests.

In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a luncheon in recognition of outstanding Queensland contributors.

Following, His Excellency received the Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie, for the presentation of three Bills for Assent.

Following, at Government House, His Excellency greeted students from Bloomsbury State School visiting for afternoon tea and a guided tour of the House and gardens.

In the evening, at Riparian Plaza, Brisbane, His Excellency attended a private viewing of the Access Arts exhibition, Where Nature and Civilisation Meet, and the Governor officially opened the exhibition and addressed guests.
