Governor's Program
The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Sunday, in the morning, at St James the Great and St Luke’s Anglican Church, Mount Isa, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the Sunday Service and morning tea, and the Governor delivered a reading.
Following at Anzac Square, Brisbane, His Excellency was represented by Commander Peter Tedman DSM OAM RAN, Honorary Aide-de-Camp, at the Vietnam Veterans Day Remembrance Service.
Following at Glencore Mines, Mount Isa, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey received a briefing and toured the mine.
In the afternoon, at Burke Shire Council Chambers, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey received a briefing from Burke Shire Council representatives.
Following at Burketown, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey viewed the Salt Flats.
Following at the Burketown Showgrounds, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey attended the Gulf Country Frontier Days Festival, and the Governor presented an award.
