Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Wednesday, in the morning, at the Mornington Shire Council Chamber, Mornington Island, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey received a briefing from Council representatives.

Following, at Mornington Island, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey visited Mornington Island State School, and the Governor addressed students and guests.

Following, at Mornington Island, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey toured the Mornington Island Art Centre.

In the afternoon, at Hughenden State School, Hughenden, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey attended a combined school assembly with representatives from Hughenden State School and St Francis Catholic School, and the Governor addressed students and guests.

Following, at the Flinders Shire Council Chambers, Hughenden, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey received a briefing from Council representatives.

Following, at Queensland Country Women’s Association Hall, Hughenden, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey attended a Community Afternoon Tea, and the Governor addressed guests.

In the evening, at the Royal Flying Doctors Service Hanger, Mount Isa Airport, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey toured the precinct, and the Governor addressed guests.
