The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the morning, at 1 William Street, Brisbane, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency greeted members of the public visiting for a guided tour of the House and Gardens.
Following, at Government House, His Excellency received the Queensland Drought Commissioners, Mr Mark O’Brien AM and Mr Vaughan Johnson, accompanied by Executive Director, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Mr Elton Miller, for a briefing.
In the evening, at QPAC, South Brisbane, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the opening night performance of ‘Chicago’.
