Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Wednesday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC greeted members of the Friendship Force of Brisbane visiting for morning tea and a guided tour of the House and gardens.

Following, at Government House, His Excellency received the Mayor, Southern Downs Regional Council, Councillor Tracy Dobie, accompanied by Council Chief Executive Officer, Mr David Keenan for a briefing on the recent bush fires.

Following, at Government House, His Excellency received the Mayor, Noosa Shire Council, Councillor Tony Wellington, accompanied by Council Chief Executive Officer, Mr Brett de Chastel for a briefing on the recent bush fires.

Following, at Government House, His Excellency received the Mayor, Scenic Rim Regional Council, Councillor Greg Christensen, for a briefing on the recent bush fires.

In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a luncheon in support of South East Queensland Mayors and Council CEOs, and the Governor addressed guests.

In the evening, at KPMG, Brisbane, His Excellency attended the Access Arts Artists’ Exhibition ‘Celebrating Differences’, and the Governor officially opened the Exhibition and addressed guests.
