Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC greeted students of Wandoan State School visiting for morning tea and a guided tour of the House and gardens.

In the afternoon, at Parliament House, Brisbane, His Excellency presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the evening, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a dinner in support of Regional Queensland, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: Councillor John Wharton AM and Mrs Mary Wharton; Councillor Michael Curran BM and Mrs Sue Curran; Councillor Ross Andrews and Mrs Sue Andrews; Councillor Jack Bawden and Mrs Cathrene Bawden; Councillor Greg Campbell and Mrs Ana Campbell; Councillor Rachel Chambers and Mr Brent Chambers; Councillor Joyce McCulloch and Mr William McCulloch; Councillor Jane McNamara and Mr Brendan McNamara; Councillor Andrew Martin and Mrs Louise Martin; and Air Commodore Mark Gower AM LVO OAM (Mil) and Mrs Julie Gower.
