Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the morning, at 1 William Street, Brisbane, the Honourable Justice Walter Sofronoff, Acting Governor, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey returned to Government House following official travel to Hobart, and the Honourable Justice Walter Sofronoff ceased duty as Acting Governor of Queensland.

Following, at Government House, His Excellency received the Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie, for the presentation of four Bills for Assent.

In the evening, at the Queensland Police Memorial, Brisbane, His Excellency attended the National Police Remembrance Day Candlelight Vigil and laid the first wreath.
