The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Friday, in the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed Government House for official travel to the Redlands.
Following, at Macleay Island, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey visited Macleay Island State School and the Governor addressed students and guests.
In the afternoon, at Macleay Island, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey toured the Macleay Island Art Complex.
Following, at the Redland City Council Chambers, Cleveland, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey received a briefing from Council representatives.
Following, at the Redland Performing Arts Centre, Cleveland, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted a community Afternoon Tea, and the Governor addressed guests.
Following, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey returned to Government House following official travel to the Redlands.
In the evening, at the Treasury Brisbane Arcadia, Southbank, His Excellency attended the Brisbane Festival Opening Night Function.
