Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Friday, in the morning, at Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, South Brisbane, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey viewed the 'Two Sisters; A Singular Vision' and 'Mavis Ngallametta: Show Me The Way To Go Home' Exhibitions.

Following, at Government House, His Excellency received the Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie, for the presentation of one Bill for Royal Assent.

In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency received a call, via telephone, from Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Minister for Women and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence, the Honourable Shannon Fentiman MP.

In the evening, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey greeted members of the public visiting to view the 2020 Christmas Lights display.
