Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Friday, in the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed Government House for official travel to the Scenic Rim.

In the morning, at the Crest Car Park, Tregony, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey received a briefing on recent bushfires from the Mayor and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services representatives.

Following, at Aratula, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey visited Aratula State School and the Governor addressed students and guests, and presented an award.

Following, at the Aratula Sports Centre, Aratula, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey received a briefing from Council representatives.

Following, at the Aratula Sports Centre, Aratula, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey attended a community morning tea for residents, business owners and emergency services personnel impacted by recent bushfires, and the Governor addressed guests.

In the afternoon, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey returned to Government House following official travel to the Scenic Rim.

In the evening, at the United Service Club, Brisbane, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey attended a dinner to celebrate significant birthdays for Brigadier Sam Harrison MBE RFD ED and Major General John Pearn AO RFD, and the Governor addressed guests.
