Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Wednesday, in the morning, at St John’s Anglican College, Forest Lake, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC attended the official opening of St John’s Anglican College redeveloped Sports Centre, and the Governor addressed guests and unveiled a plaque.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a dinner in honour of Queenslanders recognised in the 2020 Australia Day Honours Lists, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: Mr Campbell Newman AO and Mrs Lisa Newman; Professor Matthew Sanders AO and Mrs Patricia Sanders; Dr Vedella Hinckley AM and Mr Stephen Young; Lieutenant Colonel Dianne Grey CSC and Mr Brendan Hayward CSC CSM; Mrs Georgia Byrom OAM and Mr Roger Byrom, and Air Commodore Mark Gower AM LVO OAM (Mil) and Mrs Julie Gower.
