Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Wednesday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a morning tea to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Voice, Interests and Education of Women (VIEW) Clubs of Australia, and the Governor addressed guests.

Following, at Corinda, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey visited St Aidan's Anglican Girls' School and attended an assembly celebrating International Women's Day, where the Governor addressed guests.

In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency received the High Commissioner for South Africa to Australia, His Excellency Mr Marthinus van Schalkwyk.
