The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Tuesday, in the morning, at the Queensland Police Memorial, Brisbane City, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC attended the National Police Remembrance Day Memorial Service and laid the first wreath.
In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a luncheon in honour of Queenslanders recognised in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours Lists, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: Sergeant Ian Leavers APM and Ms Brooke Flood; Mrs Lynette Richter ASM and Mr Ian Richter ASM; Mr Peter Costantini OAM and Ms Julie McLennan; and Mrs Maria Boland OAM and Mr John Boland.
