The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Tuesday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC received the Right Honourable, the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Councillor Adrian Schrinner to sign a message of condolence to the Royal Family following the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Following, at Government House, His Excellency received Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Dr Thomas Fitschen and Dr Ilona Stölken-Fitschen; and Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Queensland, Professor Michael Rosemann.
In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted an afternoon reception in support of the Royal Historical Society of Queensland as Trustee of the Dig Tree Reserve, and the Governor addressed guests.
