Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the morning, at ANZAC Square, Brisbane, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the 2021 Students’ ANZAC Commemoration Ceremony, and the Governor addressed guests and laid the first wreath.

Following, at Government House, His Excellency greeted members of the View Club Centenary Evenings visiting for a guided tour of the House and gardens.

In the afternoon, at Parliament House, Brisbane, His Excellency presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. 

Following, at Banco Court, Brisbane, His Excellency attended the Valedictory ceremony in honour of retiring judge, the Honourable Justice Anthe Philippides.

Following, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted an afternoon reception in support of the RBWH Foundation’s 35th Anniversary, and the Governor addressed guests.
